Do you want to grow your business? Are you still suck in the past? It’s a given, we live in a digital age where most businesses rely on social media to be successful. If your business is not on social media, does it exist? It is important to be caught up in today’s world to grow your business. In this blog, I will share information on how your business can utilize social media influencers to grow and prosper.
What is a Social Media Influencer
A social media influencer is a person who has built a reputation for his/her knowledge and expertise on a specific topic. An influencer shares his/her life on social media with others and focuses on a specific thing or “niche” such as fitness, personal development, beauty, health, electronics, veganism, travel, fashion, etc. This person has acquired a big enough audience where he/she has been placed in a position of authority with their audience.
Nowadays social media influencers have taken over celebrities. We can say that they are the new celebrities. People look to social media influencers for advice on almost anything. From where to travel, the best beauty products, where to eat, what to wear, and the list goes on.
Grow Your Business | The power of Influencers
Because of their authority and knowledge on a specific thing, social media influencers have the power to affect the purchasing decisions of others. People who admire them will likely listen to what they have to say rather than listen to an ad. Therefore advertising your product or service on the influencer’s main channel can bring you lots of new clients. Savy smart business owners understand that people want to buy from people they know.
Let’s not forget about brand awareness. Brand awareness is the extent to which customers can recall or recognize a brand under different conditions. Don’t expect to get lots of sales from one influencer post. Building trust with people takes time. The more people recognize and see your products out there, the more trust they will have in purchasing whatever it is you have to offer. So, to recap, the more influencers you work with the more popular your brand will become. This in return makes your product or service to be on-demand.
Teaming with the right influncers
It is crucial to team up with the correct influencers. Not all influencers talk about the same things. Let’s say you just started an essential oil store. The correct influencer to team up with would be someone who shares on topics such as health and wellness, yoga, or spirituality. They are more likely to have an audience who will be interested in your product.
How to team with Influencers
There are many companies out there that partner influencers with the right brand. On these sites, you as the business owner can create a “job posting” on what you are looking for. You give a brief explanation of what your company is about and what type of content you are looking for. Those influencers who wish to work with you will send you proposals for you to review and pick who you want to work with. Some of these sites might have a fee and some are free to join. You can join as a brand or as a creator. Since you are a business looking to work with influencers, you will join as a brand. Here are some sites:
You can also simply send an influencer an email stating that you want to partner with them. Look for the influencer’s email in their Instagram bio or about section on Youtube.
What to pay Influencers
There are two ways to work with social media influencers.
- Product exhange: The influencer receives no pay from you but therefore receives the procuts or service that you offer for free in exchange for telling their audience about your brand.
- Pay: On top of sending your product or service, you pay the influencer for specific content on their chanels.
The bigger the audience the influencer has the higher their rate will be. If they really like your product, they might do the job for free.
How to Spot Fake Influencers
Be careful when selecting who to work with. There are sites out there that let you buy followers. Use your judgment and thoroughly inspect the influencer’s page. Look at their interactions with people, their likes, and comments, and see if it makes sense. If they have a large following it wouldn’t make sense if their photos get only 10 likes and 2 comments. Also, look to see if they have worked with other brands similar to yours and what the comments say. How did others respond to the post? If possible, get on a call if you are going to be paying a lot. Make sure they are real.
